At Salvos Stores, we believe in creating a community of changemakers who work together to make a difference. We operate over 400 stores across Australia, offering a sustainable shopping experience through the recycling of pre-loved items.

Volunteer Role

We are seeking compassionate individuals who share our values to join our team as Volunteer Retail Assistants. You will play a vital role in supporting our store operations, working alongside a dedicated team of managers, support staff, and fellow volunteers.

You will be involved in various tasks, including sorting donations, assisting with online orders, and interacting with customers in store. This volunteer role is an excellent opportunity to gain valuable skills, build new friendships, and contribute to your community.

Key Responsibilities

  • Greet customers with a warm and friendly attitude.
  • Assist with inquiries and provide clear, helpful information to customers.
  • Support the Donor Care program by receiving donated goods and ensuring proper handling and communication with donors.
  • Process donated goods according to production guidelines to ensure quality and usability.
  • Stock and display priced items on the sales floor, maintaining a neat and organized presentation for customers.
  • Maintain cleanliness and regular clean items, the sales floor, and staff areas to ensure a pleasant environment.
  • Follow waste management guidelines and handle waste appropriately.
  • Ensure safety by consistently adhering to safe work practices and guidelines.
