Overview
Good news Astute Living Care is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Mental Health Support Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about helping others, possess excellent communication skills, and be committed to ongoing learning and development.
Responsibilities
- Provide emotional and practical support to clients with psychosocial disabilities
- Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal care, meal preparation, and household tasks
- Assist with community participation and appointment support
- Implement individual support plans in consultation with participants and their families/care team
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of client progress and provide reports as required
- Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals, including treating doctors, psychologists, and social workers
- Participate in ongoing training and development activities to enhance skills and knowledge
Requirements
- Lived experience is highly valued and encouraged to apply
- Currently enrolled in a Psychology or Social Work program (acceptable)
- Diploma in Mental Health or higher qualification preferred
- Flexibility to work varied hours, including shorter shifts
- Valid NDIS Worker Check, Working with Children Check (WWCC) and First Aid/CPR
- Mental Health First Aid Certificate (optional)
- Valid Australian driver’s license and access to own reliable transportation
