About the service:
The Parramatta Medicare Mental Health service is a brand new service for adults in Western Sydney seeking emotional wellbeing and mental health support. The service provides a combination of peer-led recovery and clinical support and a safe, welcoming and supportive environment for people experiencing psychological distress. Allowing low risk individuals to identify alternatives to presenting to the Emergency Department and gaining access support from trained mental health professional within their community, outside a clinical setting.

Role overview:
This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate mental health clinician to join Parramatta Medicare Mental Health service in Western Sydney.
- The Mental Health Clinician is responsible for ongoing interventions and the development of collaborative individual care plans
- Experience with therapeutic interventions and skills in supporting clients using therapeutic models of care (eg: CBT, DBT, Motivational Interviewing, etc)
- Participate in the planning and development of services for people with mental health issues and their families which are consistent with best practice standards and evidence-based care, and are in line with the strategic direction and vision for the service
- You will be expected to function autonomously, as well as work collaboratively as part of a multi-disciplinary team
Requirements:
- Must have one of the following: AHPRA registration as a Provisional or Registered Psychologist, Mental Health Occupational Therapist OR eligibility as a AASW Accredited Mental Health Social Worker
- Knowledge and skills which are gained through qualifications and previous experience in a mental health service delivery environment
- Proven judgment and evaluation skills demonstrating a working understanding assessment and care planning
- Sound understanding of the public, non-government and private mental health systems and programs and associated non-mental health programs in a community setting
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills showing an ability and sensitivity to work with people who have or are at risk of developing a mental illness
- Demonstrated skills in organisation and time-management, including the ability to work under pressure and balance multiple tasks
- Excellent verbal communication and writing skills
- Proven understanding of duty of care, rights to privacy and confidentiality
- Must be eligible to apply/currently hold a WWCC
- Must hold/be willing to apply for NDIS worker screening clearance
- Full Drivers Licence
