Overview

Are you a proven, strategic brand leader who wants to shape the future of one of the world’s most iconic gaming franchises?

As Director of Brand & MarComms at Jagex, you will lead the charge in developing a bold, transformative brand strategy for the RuneScape franchise and Jagex as a studio. Your mission is to position our games and studio as leaders in the MMO and live-service gaming space, elevating brand presence across every touchpoint and driving global engagement.

This is a pivotal, high-impact leadership role within our marketing team, where you’ll collaborate closely with Product Marketing, Creative, and Development teams to define what our games stand for, who they are for, and how we bring them to life across different platforms, channels and audiences.

Responsibilities

- Develop and execute a comprehensive brand strategy for the RuneScape Franchise and Jagex Corporate Brand, aligned with business objectives and target audiences.
- Conduct in-depth market research and analyze player data to identify and understand existing and potential player audiences for the RuneScape Franchise
- Develop audience segmentation and persona profiles to inform brand positioning, messaging, and marketing strategies.
- Manage and oversee the brand portfolio for the RuneScape Franchise, ensuring consistency and effectiveness across all touchpoints.
- Work with Product Marketing Directors to build effective Go-To-Market Plans for our future new titles.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, product, and creative, to deliver cohesive brand experiences for the RuneScape Franchise and Jagex Corporate Brand that resonate with target audiences.
- Build a transmedia strategy for the RuneScape IP, identifying opportunities to expand the brand across various media platforms, partnerships, and touchpoints.
- Monitor and report on brand health metrics and player engagement, providing strategic recommendations for improvement and audience expansion.
- Directly manage the Public Relations team and work closely with Internal Communications groups to ensure consistent messaging and brand alignment.

Qualifications

- A proven track record leading brand strategy and marketing communications, ideally in the video games industry.
- Experience building and evolving consumer brands across multiple platforms and media types.
- Proven success in developing and executing effective brand strategies that drive business growth and customer engagement.
- Experience in developing transmedia strategies and expanding IP across various media platforms.
- Strong experience in market research, player analysis, and audience segmentation
- Exceptional strategic thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to derive actionable insights from data.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence and align stakeholders.
- Collaborative leadership style with the ability to build and manage high-performing teams.
- Experience mentoring and supporting marketing professionals, ensuring the implementation of best practices.
- A passion for gaming and a genuine interest in building long-term engagement with passionate communities.
