The Venue

Merivale has announced its Melbourne debut with the opening of LB’s Record Bar in October, a vinyl and agave bar on Meyers Place. Renowned Melbourne stalwarts Zara and Michael Madrusan will lead the venue with an agave-focused cocktail program.

The vinyl-only bar features a collection sourced from Melbourne’s independent record stores, curated by Nick van Tiel and brought to life by local music talent and DJs.

While LB’s marks Merivale’s debut in Melbourne, it represents the beginning of a long-term commitment to investing in and contributing to the city’s world-class hospitality scene.

The Role

This role will suit a passionate and experienced beverage-driven professional, who truly understands what being hands-on means

At Merivale, our people are at the forefront of everything we do and the key to our success. Coming into the business as a Bar Manager, you will have the opportunity to express both your creativity as well as your organisational, communication, and people skills.

Along with delivering great cocktails with speed, style, and charisma, you will also be responsible for managing the bar end to end. Your focus will be on developing your people and building an incredible team with a strong culture, as well as taking them on the journey of training and development to upskill them around product knowledge, service standards, and how to create a magical guest experience.

We are looking for experienced Managers who have:

- Creativity and flair
- Experience managing large teams of bartenders and bar team leaders.
- Experience working in a high-volume environment, overseeing multiple bar operations.
- Exceptional product knowledge and ability to drive consistency and excellence.
- Influencing, coaching, and presentation skills.
- Business and operational acumen.
- Knowledge and skills to develop staff around product knowledge, service skills, team culture, and guest relationships.
