Position Purpose:

The role involves managing major donor relationships, prospecting for funding, and cultivating supporters to increase engagement and giving, aligned with the Philanthropy Annual Plan.

Position Responsibilities:

- Secure new major donors and upgrade existing donors through targeted solicitation to meet fundraising targets
- Develop and maintain relationships with major donors through calls, meetings, etc.
- Collaborate with other departments to identify cross-functional engagement opportunities
- Coordinate engagement activities for major donors, including those held by the CEO
- Create and execute tailored communications such as updates, acknowledgments, and impact reports
- Monitor and report on donor engagement and moves management in the CRM
- Understand RSPCA NSW funding focuses
- Develop materials like prospectuses and proposals
- Provide regular reporting and analysis
- Serve as the primary contact for major donors' inquiries
- Participate in RSPCA events and functions
- Work with the Manager, Philanthropy, to meet financial KPIs and goals
- Collaborate with the philanthropy team to deliver activities in the annual plan
- Build positive relationships within and outside the fundraising team
- Ensure attention to detail in written and data records
- Comply with organisational policies and procedures
- Perform other duties as required

Qualifications: Tertiary qualification in a relevant area (preferred)

Experience:

- Minimum three years in a not-for-profit environment
- Minimum five years in fundraising, communications, or marketing
- Proven success in soliciting major gifts and communicating impact
- Experience in relationship building and bespoke communications
- Developing proposals, presentations, and pitches
- Experience working with the CEO on solicitation and engagement activities
- Confident in asking for donations and delivering proposals

Skills:

- Strategic relationship building with high-value donors
- High-level written and verbal communication skills
- Emotional intelligence and empathy
- Deep fundraising knowledge, especially in major gifts and campaigns
- Proposal writing skills that inspire giving
- Financial literacy and understanding of budgets
- Experience with CRM systems like Salesforce or Raiser's Edge
- Self-motivated with initiative and drive
- Collaborative mindset across teams
- Discretion and high ethical standards
