About the role: We are on the search for a proactive and passionate hospitality allrounder to join our dynamic team in a part time position (minimum 15 hours per week). The Guest Services Supervisor is the role that allows you to gain exposure to all operational aspects of our properties. This is a unique position that lets you work across the property with the support of the Property Manager and our broader YHA network, with development opportunities locally and across Australia. This role is the perfect next step for someone looking to build the foundation of a career in general or property management.

Responsibilities

- Positively and proactively lead and support team members across all departments to ensure a seamless flow of day-to-day property operations, recruitment and performance management
- Oversee daily operations at reception, ensuring all transactions are complete and accurate across YHA systems: check-in, check-out, payments, and other data collection
- Ensure that the property is clean, safe, and well presented at all times including supporting maintenance requirements
- Ensure all health and safety procedures are adhered to, to ensure the safety and wellbeing of our team and guests
- Assist with stock control and procurement including inventory checks and restocking supplies as required

About you

- Ideally you’ll have experience in customer or guest service in an accommodation environment. You may have been a Duty Manager, Team Leader, Supervisor or Manager
- You’ll need to have good attention to detail and organisational skills
- Experience using Microsoft Office and POS or Hospitality systems would be beneficial (we use Mews)
- Flexibility to work a rotating roster, including nights, weekends and public holidays
- RSA certification is essential and First Aid certificate is desirable
- Knowledge of the Hobart local area and travel/tourism industry is essential
