Council of the City of Sydney, Australia Northcott Full time

Make every day meaningful — help others grow their independence.

Are you passionate about helping people live their best lives?
Our Cobbitty team is looking for motivated and compassionate Casual Support Workers who thrive in dynamic environments and want to make a genuine difference every day.

About Northcott:

At Northcott, we believe everyone deserves the opportunity to live life their way. As a not-for-profit disability service provider, we support people with disability to explore possibilities, achieve goals, and live the life they choose.

With more than 90 years of experience and a strong presence across NSW, QLD and the ACT, Northcott is one of Australia’s largest and most trusted disability service organisations. Every year, we provide people with a disability, along with their families and carers, with personalised and empowering support.

We are a registered NDIS provider employing more than 3,000 dedicated staff across metropolitan and regional locations.

What You’ll Be Doing

As a Support Worker in Northcott’s Cobbitty team, you’ll empower customers to live as independently and confidently as possible — supporting them to develop life skills, pursue study or work opportunities, and stay actively connected to their community.

I will:

- Support customers in their daily lives, helping them build confidence and independence in a group home setting.

- Use my experience in disability or aged care, ideally within group homes.

- Demonstrate competency in manual handling, including hoist operation and repositioning.

- Assist with personal care, hygiene, and domestic duties.

- Build strong, respectful relationships with customers and their families.

- Work collaboratively with customers who have intellectual disabilities, autism, and/or physical disabilities.

- Implement and review Individual Program Plans, supporting customers to achieve their goals.

- Empower support staff to communicate effectively with customers using a personalised, person-centred approach.

- Promote inclusion, independence, and community participation.

- Be flexible to work on a rotating roster, including weekends.

No two days are the same at Northcott. One day you might be leading a creative workshop or supporting a life skills session; the next, you could be helping someone take another step toward their independence and personal goals.

Why do I want this role at Northcott?

At Northcott, we prioritise your well-being and success. Our team enjoys a wide range of benefits designed to support work-life balance, financial well-being, and personal growth:

- 5 Weeks Annual Leave – Enjoy extra time off to rest, recharge, and maintain a healthy work-life balance.

- Salary Packaging – Boost your take-home pay with salary packaging options, including up to $15,900 for general expenses and $2,650 for meals and entertainment.

- Perkbox – Access everyday savings, exclusive discounts, and wellbeing tools — our way of supporting you beyond your pay.

- Exclusive Discounts & Benefits – Save on health insurance, gym memberships, motor services, and more.

- Family-Friendly Workplace – Enjoy flexibility and support to help you balance your work and home life.

- Learning & Career Growth– Access ongoing training, development, and career advancement opportunities where your contribution is recognised and valued.

Northcott employees applying internally are required to notify their current Manager. Please note your Manager may be asked to endorse your application.

Northcott will review candidates throughout the recruitment process, likely before the close date and you will be advised of an outcome. For general enquiries about the role you are applying for, please email recruitment@northcott.com.au.
