The Opportunity

We are looking for experienced Maintenance Fitter to join our client a successful long running 100% Australian manufacturer of world class steel blade and cutting products for over 45 years. Reporting into the engineering manager your role is to provide effective maintenance and repair of plant and equipment to achieve plant reliability, cost efficiency, and to ensure safety and quality.

Responsibilities

- Preventative maintenance with a focus on safety and maximising production

- Respond and investigate Breakdown work minimising downtime

- Install new equipment and relocate existing equipment

- Working on a range of equipment involved in metal machining and milling

- Contribute to continuous improvement

- Adherence safety policies and procedures

- Participation in toolbox and team meetings and maintain workplace relationships

- Support the training and development of apprentices through mentoring

You will need

- Formal trade qualifications as a Mechanical Fitter and Turner

- Minimum 3yearsmechanical fitting experience (including general machining), working in a heavy industrial environment.

- Press and die setting experience

- Experience with pneumatics and hydraulics would be highly regarded

- Commitment to producing quality products

- Excellent communication skills

- The ability to work in a team environment

- Basic computer skills

- Maintain and use mechanical equipment as designed and effectively diagnose, and fault-find mechanical equipment

- Inspect, analyse and record critical mechanical information during the process of undertaking preventative maintenance work.

This is a full-time permanent position with an hourly rate up to $45-$50 per hour depending on experience. Very stable company with long-term staff and a great reputation for producing quality Australian made products.
