Brisbane-based construction company delivering high quality structural and civil construction projects across Queensland. With a strong reputation for reliability and innovation, our projects range between $500k and $10 million, partnering with developers, commercial builders, and civil contractors across a diverse scope of work. We are entering an exciting phase of growth with plans to scale the business by 300% over the next 12 months. As part of this strategy, we are seeking a driven, hungry, and entrepreneurial Business Development Manager to join our team and help fuel our expansion.
This is a broad and hands-on business development role ideal for someone who enjoys variety, thrives in fast-paced environments, and wants to play a key role in a company poised for major growth. You will be responsible for identifying new opportunities, building relationships, tracking tenders, tender feedback, creating brand awareness, and supporting basic marketing activities. This role suits someone who is a true jack of all trades who can combine strategic thinking with practical execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and pursue opportunities with developers, civil contractors, and commercial builders
- Build and maintain relationships across the construction industry in Queensland
- Engage in face to face networking, site visits, outbound calls, and industry events to generate leads
- Maintain regular communication with current and prospective clients to understand Tender and Opportunity Management
- Monitor tender portals and industry platforms daily for new opportunities
- Track all tender activity including EOIs, RFQs, submissions, and outcomes
- Liaise with internal teams to assist with pricing opportunities and managing submission timelines
- Drive brand awareness through basic marketing activities including updating capability statements
- Supporting photography and project write-ups
- Represent the brand professionally at networking functions, site visits, and presentations
- Log all client interactions, meetings, leads, and project activity in the CRM or internal tracking system
- Work toward clear performance KPIs including number of new contacts made, meetings attended, tenders submitted and follow up for feedback
- Provide weekly or monthly reporting to senior leadership

Key Skills and Experience
- Previous experience in a business development client relationship or sales role, preferably in construction civil or a related field
- Understanding of tendering and project workflows for commercial-scale construction
- Strong interpersonal skills, presentation and written communication
- Ability to think creatively about where and how to source new business
- Knowledge of the Brisbane and broader Queensland construction market is highly desirable
- Basic familiarity with marketing tools, CRM platforms, and Microsoft Office
