Overview
AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We support all AWS data centers and the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. We’re looking for talented people to help tackle challenging problems with thousands of variables impacting the supply chain.
You’ll join a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles. You’ll collaborate across AWS to deliver safety and security while providing scalable capacity at the lowest possible cost. You’ll experience an inclusive culture that welcomes bold ideas and empowers you to own them to completion.
Responsibilities
- Maintaining inventory to ensure proper stock levels support build and repair activities.
- Physically receiving and issuing parts for internal customers.
- Loading, unloading and transporting parts between sites.
- Keeping accurate stock records through physical cycle counts.
- Maintaining safety, organization, and cleanliness of all workspaces using Amazon 7S principles.
- Travel to other sites in the Melbourne metro area to assist with cycle counts, stock reception, replenishment, and returning defective stock; travel costs reimbursed.
Travel
The role may require travel to other sites in the Melbourne metro area. Travel between sites will require your own transport; all travel-related costs will be reimbursed.
Physical / Environmental Demands
- Standing, sitting, and walking (including stairs) for prolonged periods.
- Frequently push, pull, squat, bend and kneel; reach and stretch to position equipment.
- Push or pull heavy objects up to 16 kg; participate in group lifts of 20 kg or more.
- Coordinate body movements when using tools or equipment.
- Work with moving mechanical parts in an office/warehouse environment with low to moderate noise.
A day in the life
Your day will involve logistical support for data centers, handling spare parts transactions, stock replenishment, and cycle counting.
Basic Qualifications
- Experience in warehouse operations and logistics or equivalent.
