External Boat Builder

Our prestigious manufacturing client within the Marine and Luxury Yacht industry is currently seeking multiple External Boat Builders to assist in the external construction of their yachts. This is a full-time, permanent position based in Wroxham.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

- Robust boatbuilding construction knowledge
- Competent manufacturing knowledge (timber, fibreglass products, etc.)
- Knowledge of safe working practices and good understanding of Health and Safety
- Relevant C&G Qualifications or equivalent
- Excellent communication skills

- Skilled use of hand and power tools
- Ability to read and understand technical drawings

- Experience working with raw materials and tools to a high standard
- Previous experience in the marine industry working with timber/GRP boats (Desirable)

This key role reports to the Boat Builder Manager and involves making and fitting various components across our client’s range of boats, working to precise measurements and details on the exterior of the projects.

Key Job Responsibilities:

- Fitting sailing hardware (winches, cleats, clutches, tracks)
- GRP/fibreglass structure fitting and maintenance
- Fitting hull ports / marine windows
- Fitting pull and push pits
- Fitting marine hatches
- Quality and snagging testing through deluge
- Skin fitting installation, deck gear installation, and teak deck installation
- Window, portlight, and hatch installation
- Fitting various fibreglass components
- Fairing and finishing of final composite modules

Our client offers flexible working arrangements, including:

- Monday to Friday, 40-hour week with flexible start times (e.g., early starts from 06:30)
- Enhanced overtime rates for hours exceeding 40
- Additional one-off payments for hours over 45
