RFQ-ASD- LH-04772 Technology Architect
Due to the nature of clients we work with here at Kinexus and the projects these roles will be based on, an Australian Government Top Secret Positive Vetting (TSPV) clearance is essential.
These opportunities do not have the ability to obtain sponsorship for a security clearance (including applicants who currently hold a security clearance seeking to upgrade).
ABOUT THIS ROLE
Technology Architects determine the appropriate technologies to be used in the service development and delivery environment. They monitor emerging technologies and plan technology exploration, implementation and retirement.
The Technology Architect will plan and drive activities to develop organisational systems integration and build capabilities including automation and continuous integration. Identify, evaluate and manage the adoption of tools, techniques and processes to create a robust integration framework. Provided authoritative advice and guidance on any aspect of systems integration.
Lead integration work in line with the agreed system and service design. Assess risks and take preventative action. Measure and monitor applications of standards. Contribute to the development of organisational policies, standards, and guidelines for systems integration.
Candidates Must have a Top Secret Positive Vetting Security Clearance and candidates Must be an Australian Citizen.

Working arrangements: Onsite. Candidates must be willing to undergo ASD's Organisational Suitability Assessment (OSA) prior to engagement. Candidates required to have PV clearance.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Developing organisational capabilities, processes and procedures for automation and continuous integration of build, packaging, testing, security and deployment.
- Managing the build and operation of a continuous integration (CI) capability as required, employing version control of source code and related artefacts.
- Provide technical leadership in the implementation of infrastructure solutions, infrastructure modernisation including network, cloud and on-premise environments.
- Lead the development of a scalable, secure and reliable network infrastructure network
- Design and document architecture artefacts (high level designs, reference architectures, patterns and standards)
- Ensuring security and privacy requirements are an essential part of systems integration and build.
- Testing, validation and sign off of integration to satisfy requirements, architectures and design.
- Monitoring and controlling integration activities, recording and reporting on the results of integration.
- Keeping stakeholders informed and providing feedback into risk management processes.
- Developing and ongoing management of disaster recovery plans and applying incident management processes for major systems integrations.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE NEEDED
Essential criteria
- Information security: Level 3 (SFIA) Applies and maintains specific security controls as required by organisational policy and local risk assessments. Communicates security risks and issues to business managers and others. Performs basic risk assessments for small information systems. Contributes to the identification of risks that arise from potential technical solution architectures. Suggests alternate solutions or countermeasures to mitigate risks. Defines secure systems configurations in compliance with intended architectures. Supports investigation of suspected attacks and security breaches.
- Network design: Level 5 (SFIA) Produces, or approves network providers', network architectures, topologies and configuration databases for own area of responsibility. Specifies design parameters for network connectivity, capacity, speed, interfacing, security and access, in line with business requirements. Assesses network-related risks and specifies recovery routines and contingency procedures. Creates multiple design views to address the different stakeholders' concerns and to handle both functional and non-functional requirements.
- Solution architecture: Level 4 (SFIA) Contributes to the development of solution architectures in specific business, infrastructure or functional areas. Identifies and evaluates alternative architectures and the trade-offs in cost, performance and scalability. Determines and documents architecturally significant decisions. Produces specifications of cloud-based or on-premises components, tiers and interfaces, for translation into detailed designs using selected services and products. Supports projects or change initiatives through the preparation of technical plans and application of design principles. Aligns solutions with enterprise and solution architecture standards (including security).
- Specialist advice: Level 5 (SFIA) Provides definitive and expert advice in their specialist area. Actively maintains recognised expert level knowledge in one or more identifiable specialisms. Oversees the provision of specialist advice by others. Consolidates expertise from multiple sources, including third-party experts, to provide coherent advice to further organisational objectives. Supports and promotes the development and sharing of specialist knowledge within the organisation.
- Australian Citizenship and a TSPV security clearance is essential
Desirable criteria
- Enterprise and business architecture: Level 5 (SFIA) Develops models and plans to drive the execution of the business strategy, taking advantage of opportunities to improve business performance. Contributes to creating and reviewing a systems capability strategy which meets the business's strategic requirements. Determines requirements and specifies effective business processes, through improvements in technology, information or data practices, organisation, roles, procedures and equipment.
- Information assurance: Level 5 (SFIA) Interprets information assurance and security policies and applies these to manage risks. Provides advice and guidance to ensure adoption of and adherence to information assurance architectures, strategies, policies, standards and guidelines. Plans, organises and conducts information assurance and accreditation of complex domains areas, cross-functional areas, and across the supply chain. Contributes to the development of policies, standards and guidelines.
