Dynamics 365 Solution Architect

We are seeking an experienced Dynamics 365 Solution Architect to join our team for a critical ERP rollout project. This role will focus on developing, configuring, and customising the Dynamics 365 platform, particularly for Finance, Operations, and Supply Chain Management modules, to ensure a smooth and efficient ERP system implementation. The ideal candidate will work closely with business stakeholders to gather requirements, create solutions, and ensure successful integration across the organisation. This position is based in Fyshwick, Canberra. Advanced Design Technology may consider supporting relocation within Australia for the right candidate.

Key Projects

• Collaborate with business leaders to design, develop, and implement Dynamics 365 ERP solutions.
• Lead from requirements gathering through to go-live, training and support.
• Translate business needs into technical solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Customise Dynamics 365 modules (Finance, Operations, Supply Chain, CRM etc.) to align with specific business requirements and ensure seamless functionality across departments.
• Lead efforts in migrating legacy system data to Dynamics 365 ERP, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
• Integrate Dynamics 365 ERP with third-party systems, including CRM, finance tools, and other enterprise applications using Azure services, APIs, and Power Platform.
• Work closely with business analysts, department heads, and key stakeholders to gather functional requirements and translate them into technical deliverables.
• Ensure that the Dynamics 365 ERP platform meets the operational and reporting needs of departments such as Finance, HR, CRM, Supply Chain, and Operations.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to performance, functionality, and user access during and post-rollout.
• Ensure that the ERP platform is kept up to date with Dynamics 365 patches, updates, and new features.
• Optimise the system for performance, scalability, and security, focusing on ERP-specific challenges like data integrity, audit trails, and compliance.
• Provide technical training and user support for the ERP system, including system customisations and integrations.
• Create detailed documentation for all customisations, workflows, and integrations for both technical teams and end-users.
• Develop and execute comprehensive test plans, including unit tests, system tests, and UAT, to ensure the ERP system meets business requirements.
• Develop custom workflows, plugins, and extensions using C#, .NET, and JavaScript to meet ERP-related needs.

The Person

To be successful in this role, you will ideally have a combination of the following.

• Tertiary qualifications in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience). Individuals nearing the completion of their studies may also be considered.
• 4+ years of experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 ERP development, with a focus on Finance and Operations modules.
• Proven experience in ERP rollout projects, preferably in manufacturing, or supply chain sectors.
• Expertise in Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations (F&O) modules, including customising forms, workflows, and reports.
• Strong understanding of ERP system architecture, data models, and business processes.
• Experience in data migration from legacy systems to Dynamics 365 ERP, including data mapping, cleansing, and validation.
• Familiarity with Azure DevOps, PowerApps, and Power Automate for ERP process automation and integration.
• Strong project management and organisational skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks during critical phases of the ERP rollout.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with experience collaborating with cross-functional teams.
• Ability to adapt quickly to changing requirements and deadlines, particularly in large-scale ERP projects.
• Hands-on experience with C#, .NET, and JavaScript for Dynamics 365 development and customisation.

Desirable

• Proficiency with SQL Server, SSRS, and Power BI for reporting and analytics.
• Dynamics 365: Finance and Operations Apps Developer Associate (MB-300 or MB-500).
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum methodologies within an ERP rollout context.
• Knowledge of data governance, compliance standards, and ERP security best practices.
