The Armadale Youth and Community Services Hub (YCSH), coordinated by Armadale Senior High School (SHS), aims to enhance educational and social outcomes for children and young people while they remain enrolled, and case managed by their school. The program addresses complex needs by providing access to targeted support in areas such as mental health, social services, parenting, life skills training, and specialist health services.
The YCSH team is dedicated to supporting young people who may be at risk by connecting them with government and non-government services to help meet their basic and educational needs. By offering early intervention services, the YCSH strengthens the connection between schools and their communities. Located on the Armadale SHS campus, the program supports the following local schools in improving student attendance, behaviour, and wellbeing.
As a Program Coordinator, you will work collaboratively with the YCSH Governance Group, which includes the principals of the five schools serviced by the program, to set, implement and promote the vision and strategic plan of the YCSH. You will lead the YCSH Management Group and the YCSH staff (Social Worker, Student Support Officer, Education Assistant, School Psychologist and Administrative Officer) in the guidance and provision of services to students of the five schools. In doing so, you will be responsible for developing a shared a vision for success which encourages staff, volunteers, and community members to share ownership of the YCSH vision and goals.
Using your knowledge of effective change management strategies, you will lead the YCSH in developing opportunities for improved service. You will facilitate workforce effectiveness and provide a role model for self-development to improve professional performance. In collaboration with the YCSH Governance and Management Groups you will lead the development of the YCSH strategic planning, operational planning, policy development, and establishing and maintaining systems and processes to support these.
As Program Coordinator for the YCSH, you will lead and manage areas of responsibility to deliver success for the targeted groups. These include supporting vulnerable young people with complex needs, improving school and community relationships for the young people involved, management of student behaviour and well-being, student attendance, and student case management. The Program Coordinator will build and maintain strong relationships with the five schools to provide support and services to students and families in the Kelmscott/Armadale/Byford area.
We are looking for applicants who can work effectively within a multidisciplinary team and deliver high-quality, evidence-based care to all clients. Strong interpersonal skills are essential, including the ability to identify, establish, build and maintain positive relationships and partnerships with staff, young people, schools and external agencies, and the wider community. They will be able to exhibit the ability to evaluate programs and processes, analyse relevant performance data, and develop strategic plans and policies to achieve optimum outcomes.
