Armadale Senior High School (SHS) is a unique and dynamic high school at the base of the Darling Ranges, about 40km from Perth. As an Independent Public School, Armadale SHS aims to excel in performance, student engagement and academic achievement, with strong pastoral support from the Student Engagement & Support (SES) team. Our Aspire extension pathway in Years 7 to 10 provides an enriched curriculum for high-achieving students, preparing them for university studies. Specialist Programs in Visual Arts and Technologies, along with Vocational Education & Training (VET) courses, equip graduates for further study or entry to the workforce.

Armadale SHS is seeking a motivated instructional leader for the role of Program Coordinator – Targeted Teaching (Literacy and Numeracy). The successful applicant will lead the development and implementation of whole-school literacy and numeracy intervention programs.

Role and responsibilities

The Program Coordinator – Targeted Teaching should have strong professional knowledge of evidence-based, data-driven literacy and numeracy strategies. They will use student achievement data to design and implement whole-school strategies that address student needs, promote engagement and improve learning outcomes. A thorough understanding of diagnostic testing and excellent data analysis skills are required.

As a key member of the Senior Leadership Team, the role involves collaborating with stakeholders to implement whole-school intervention programs and embedding effective programs across the school. The successful applicant will use interpersonal communication to support teachers and enhance pedagogical practice, and will lead specialised education programs as needed.

Experience in literacy and numeracy intervention, explicit instruction, engaging instructional strategies, and coaching or instructional rounds is encouraged.
