The Administration Officer, NSW Voluntary Assisted Dying (NVSS) is a key role in providing administrative functions within VAD statewide services. The purpose of the NSW VAD State‑wide services is to support delivery of VAD to the NSW community via:

- The VAD Pharmacy service; responsible for procuring and distributing the VAD substance and providing expert pharmaceutical advice, education, and support.

- The VAD Care Navigator Service; responsible for providing consistent and accurate information about voluntary assisted dying to the health system and wide community and providing support for those wishing to access VAD.

- The VAD Access Service; providing second tier medical support to ensure equity of access to those in regional or rural NSW in circumstances where local VAD practitioners may not be available.

The Administration Officer, NVSS will have the knowledge to provide accurate, timely and efficient administrative support across each service arm. This will include being flexible to rotate between services depending on local need and service operational requirements. Day to day tasks may include:

- Managing travel bookings and all associated appointments, ensuring that processes align to NSLHD policies and procedures

- Monitoring of generic NVSS inboxes; collating documents for approvals and sign offs

- Minutes and actions for daily team meetings

- Scheduling patient appointments and discharging patients in eMR under the direction of NVSS clinicians

- Management of databases, rostering, meetings and contact lists
