The Opportunity
Join us as the Marketing Planning & Operations Manager based in our Melbourne office location on Part Time (3 or 4 days a week), 12-month max-term contract, where you’ll play a pivotal role in getting the best out of our significant consumer marketing operation.
Working across our Dodo and iPrimus brands, this role is tasked with connecting and coordinating multiple aspects of the marketing machine and ensuring alignment across marketing and other key stakeholders.
As an outcome-focused team, demonstrating marketing’s impact on growth and business outcomes is also key to our success. As a part of the Marketing Leadership Team, this role will have broad strategic visibility of activity across the organisation and play a critical part in fostering an engaged and efficient marketing team.
What you’ll be doing day-to-day
- Drive annual and quarterly marketing planning processes, ensuring alignment of key marketing activities and visibility of key timelines and milestones. Ensure the marketing plan is coordinated to deliver integrated, well-planned, effective campaigns and activity
- Maintain a view of the activities through the business that will impact on marketing and require marketing capacity to execute, identifying points of potential pressure or overlap
- Create and drive processes, documents and engagement models that foster operational/marketing excellence and allow us to deliver integrated, effective campaigns and activity at speed. This includes platform ownership and improved utility of our marketing workflow platform (Monday.com) and nurturing the use of automation/AI where applicable
- Collaborate with internal teams to develop marketing goals and demand-based targets that align with overall business objectives and drive aligned performance outcomes
- Work with Marketing, BI and media agency partners to measure, demonstrate and prove value of marketing activity (and ensure applicable insights are fed into future activity and planning). This includes playing a central role in management and application of marketing mix modelling outcomes
- Manage agency relationships and performance, including team structure, contractual agreements, performance reviews, payment models, etc
- Maintain overall oversight of marketing budget, aiding marketing team members with accruals, allocations and movements
- Work with key supply partners on co-operative funding opportunities, program managing these to ensure maximum benefit
- Help shape our retail brand tracking, research and insights program, working with key stakeholders inside and outside of marketing to develop partnerships/insights that provide value and influence business behaviour
What you’ll bring to this role
- Proven experience in marketing operations and planning roles within medium to large organisations
- Strong process orientation with the ability to bring teams together and establish effective workflows and engagement models
- Commercially and financially savvy, with hands-on experience managing marketing budgets and measuring ROI—experience with marketing mix modelling is highly regarded
- Proficient in workflow management tools such as Monday.com, with a track record of driving improved utility and adoption
- Excellent collaboration and influencing skills, with strong organisational and planning capabilities
- Demonstrated ability to build effective agency/client engagement models, manage supplier agreements, and foster strong working relationships
- Confident in managing competing priorities and identifying potential pressure points across projects and teams
- Experience contributing to research, brand tracking, and insights programs is advantageous
- A team player who thrives in collaborative environments and actively contributes to shared goals
- Passionate about marketing and its impact on business performance, with a proactive and solution-oriented mindset
