The Opportunity:

We’re excited to offer an opportunity for an experienced Key Account Manager – Business Development to join our QLD team. This role is about hunting for growth opportunities, building strategic relationships, and shaping tailored solutions for our customers.

With a warm pipeline already in place, you’ll step in and take ownership while also developing new opportunities through networking, leveraging contacts, and strategic business development (not door knocking or rep-level selling).

What you’ll be doing:

- Develop and execute business development strategies to grow a portfolio of high-value accounts.

- Proactively identify opportunities, build relationships, and use your network to expand Cleanaway’s reach.

- Lead tender responses, crafting tailored solutions, using available tools and support from our Bids & Tenders team, and presenting compelling proposals to customers.

- Work closely with senior leaders to align on growth strategies and influence outcomes at a high level.

- Monitor competitor activity and market trends to stay ahead and identify areas for innovation.

About You:

This isn’t about high-volume sales calls or churning out tender submissions. We’re looking for a strategic hunter, someone who enjoys networking, building relationships, and taking the time to create meaningful, tailored solutions.

You’ll bring:

- Proven success in business development and managing large, complex accounts.

- Strong experience in networking, relationship building, and uncovering new opportunities.

- Experience writing tenders and proposals, with the ability to craft compelling solutions (not just produce output).

- Excellent negotiation, presentation, and communication skills.

- Ideally, experience in the waste industry so you can hit the ground running, though we’re open to candidates from other sectors with the right commercial acumen.
