- Lead and support the Business Services Team to deliver core administrative and ancillary functions, finance, fleet, HR processes, assets, and records management, for the Precinct.

The Department of Justice and Community Safety (Youth Justice) is responsible for the statutory supervision of young people in the criminal justice system in Victoria focusing on prevention, diversion, and early intervention as the most effective and fiscally responsible ways of reducing youth crime. As an area within the department, Youth Justice is committed to the demonstration of the departmental values at all times; serve the community, work together, act with integrity, respect other people and make it happen.
Youth Justice custodial centres accommodate young people aged 10-18 years who have been remanded or sentenced by the Criminal Division of the Children's Court, and some 18-21 year-olds sentenced by Adult Courts to a youth justice custodial centre.
Youth Justice Custodial Services aims to engage young people in change by addressing their offending behaviour and equipping them with the skills required for positive community participation, within a safe and secure environment. The Custodial Business Services Unit is responsible for the provision of administrative Services, and ancillary Services (stores and food safety) across the Youth Justice Precincts.
The opportunity
- 13 month Fixed-Term, full-time position based in Parkville
- VPS5 role: $113,022 - $136,747 per year plus super.
- Oversee and support the Parkville Business Services Team to deliver core functions including accounts payable, fleet management, procurement processes and reporting, staff onboarding and offboarding, management of young person's earnings and property, asset, and stock control, purchasing, food safety, and records management.
- Manage, monitor, and review contract delivery to ensure that planned outcomes of contracts are delivered on time, to specified standards, and within budget.
- Ensure all Parkville Business services objectives, service delivery standards, budgetary outcomes, and stakeholder expectations are met promptly across the precinct.
- Lead a team in providing or contributing to authoritative and expert advice and recommendations consistent with organisational goals and values.
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Experience in management of administrative services and Oracle and Zycus electronic procurement (or similar applications) is desirable.
- Experience in people management and staff supervision
- Experience in stores/warehousing and stock management systems is desirable.
- A current driver's license is required due to the need to travel to other work locations as required.
You will be required to obtain a Working with Children Check (WWCC) to be maintained by the employee for the period of employment.
