About the Role
The Public Transport Authority (PTA) is seeking a motivated Coordinator, Emergency Management to join the Transperth Train Operations (TTO) team. Reporting to the Safety Manager, this role is responsible for providing direction and oversight of the PTA’s emergency management procedures and operations.
Key duties and responsibilities include:
- Lead and manage emergency management systems and functions across the PTA, including continuous improvement initiatives and strategic planning.
- Coordinate emergency preparedness activities, such as annual exercise planning, emergency manual development, and training for key personnel.
- Engage with internal and external stakeholders, including senior PTA staff and emergency response agencies, to ensure effective collaboration and response.
- Represent the PTA on multi‑agency emergency management committees and during inter‑agency emergency exercises.
- Oversee emergency management systems, including the Emergency Management System and Emergency Callout System, ensuring they are maintained, reviewed, and fit for purpose.
About You
To excel in this role, you should possess:
- Relevant qualifications and/or experience in a discipline related to emergency management.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with a wide range of stakeholders and provide high‑quality, customer‑focused service.
- Strong written communication skills, including the ability to prepare clear and concise reports.
- Well‑developed analytical and problem‑solving abilities, with a demonstrated capacity to assess issues and identify effective solutions.

There is currently one fixed‑term opportunity available to 31 December 2026 with the possibility of renewal and/or permanency. Applicants assessed as suitable through this process may be used to fill similar vacancies on a fixed‑term or permanent basis that may arise within the next 12 months.
To be eligible to work at the PTA you must be either an Australian Citizen, Australian Permanent Resident, or hold a valid work visa until 31 December 2026.
