The Department of Justice and Community Safety is seeking a Staff Training Coordinator to provide a critical role at Ravenhall.
About the Business Unit
Metropolitan Remand Centre (MRC) is a maximum‑security remand facility based in the Western Suburbs of Melbourne. Prisoners on remand are alleged offenders who were not bailed when charged with a crime and are awaiting the outcome of their court case. The Metropolitan Remand Centre is a 954‑bed maximum‑security facility for unsentenced male offenders located within the West Metropolitan Region, Department of Justice, and Community Safety.
About the Role
The Staff Training Coordinator will have responsibility for providing a range of training and training coordination activities to MRC staff. The position involves the collation and management of staff training records from both a staff development and compliance perspective. The Staff Training Coordinator will work with staff to identify learning opportunities that meet individual and organisational needs as part of the staff member's Performance Plan and will assist the Staff Development Manager in ensuring that Performance Plans are completed and assessed within specified timelines.
Some of your duties will include:
- Coordinate and deliver training and induction programs.
- Identify, plan and coordinate training requirements to ensure mandatory qualifications are maintained in accordance with operational requirements.
- Develop and maintain ongoing staff training schedules.
- Liaise with the DOJ Learning and Development Unit in relation to CV Registered Training Organisation (RTO) matters.
- Conduct staff assessments to determine training needs.
About you
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Experience in the design and implementation of a variety of competency‑based training programs.
Qualifications / Requirements
- Completion of the Prison Officer Pre‑service training is essential.
