Business Development & Sales Manager – Fresh Produce Wholesale Drive growth across key industries
We’re representing a leading national fresh produce wholesaler seeking a results‑driven Business Development & Sales Manager to lead growth nationally. This is a senior, high‑impact role suited to someone who thrives on autonomy, enjoys being on the road, and loves the energy of the food industry.
About the Role
As the Business Development & Sales Manager, you’ll be responsible for identifying and securing new opportunities within key customer segments, including mining camps, healthcare providers, shipping companies, catering and hospitality groups. You’ll develop and execute strategic sales plans, strengthen relationships across supply chains, and ensure exceptional service delivery in a dynamic and fast‑paced wholesale environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute business development and sales strategies aligned with growth targets
- Identify and secure new business across mining, healthcare, shipping, and hospitality sectors
- Build and maintain long‑term relationships with key stakeholders and procurement partners
- Analyse market trends and competitor activity to inform strategy
- Negotiate and secure profitable contracts within operational capabilities
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure seamless service and delivery
- Provide accurate forecasting, reporting and pipeline management
- Represent the business at trade shows, client meetings and industry events
- Mentor and support team members to drive accountability and performance
About You
You’re a proactive, commercially minded professional who enjoys building new relationships and converting opportunities into long‑term partnerships. You’re hands‑on, strategic, and driven to deliver results.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in business development or sales (foodservice, FMCG or wholesale background ideal)
- Proven ability to win and grow major accounts across sectors such as mining, healthcare, shipping or hospitality
- Exceptional interpersonal, presentation and negotiation skills
- Strong commercial instincts with the ability to manage complex deals
- High energy, autonomy and a solutions‑focused mindset
- Willingness to travel regularly across Western Australia and interstate as required
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Commerce, Agriculture or related field (preferred)
- Current driver’s licence
