Position Information: Ashmont Public School is located on the western side of Wagga Wagga with a student population of 296, 57% of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander background. The school has a high expectation environment supported by highly trained staff, including Assistant Principals, Instruction and Curriculum leaders, and resources such as reduced class sizes, learning support officers, an Aboriginal Education Officer, and literacy and numeracy interventionists. As a Resilience Project school, a focus on student wellbeing underpins a positive learning environment.
Selection Criteria
- Approval to teach special education and/or experience teaching students with Behaviour‑Difficulties & Emotional Disturbance (Primary)
- Demonstrated ability to differentiate curriculum by developing & implementing personalised, culturally responsive learning to maximise student growth and engagement
- Highly developed communication & interpersonal skills to contribute to whole‑school culture and build positive relationships with students, staff, parents/carers, external agencies and the wider community
- Evidence of successful classroom management with flexible & adaptive strategies, including early intervention strategies
Conditions
An unconditional full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education is required. If you do not hold full approval, you must commence the application process concurrently with this application.
