Position Information

Bulahdelah Central School is one of 60 Central schools in New South Wales and has been providing quality education for more than 150 years. Currently, the school serves 288 students from Kindergarten through to Year 12, ensuring that each student feels known, valued, and cared for.

Currently in 2025, there are approximately 97 students in the primary department and 191 in the secondary department, which includes three multi-categorical support classes. In 2026, a multi-categorical support classroom will be established in the Primary department. Approximately 23% of the student body identifies as Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander. Bulahdelah Central School offers learning opportunities for all students from K to 12.

The school maintains strong relationships with the local preschool and partner schools including Tea Gardens, Coolongolook, Bungwahl, and Booral, forming the Myall Community of Schools. Together, they coordinate various programs throughout the year to assist students as they transition to kindergarten, the secondary setting and beyond.

Specific Selection Criteria

- Approval to teach special education and/or experience teaching students with diverse learning needs such as autism, mild intellectual disabilities, complex and challenging behaviours including mental health and physical disabilities.

- onstrated ability to differentiate the curriculum by developing and implementing personalised learning and support that is culturally responsive, maximises student growth, fosters high expectations and promotes student engagement.

- Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to contribute to the whole school culture and work collaboratively to build positive relationships with students, staff, parents, carers, external agencies and providers, as well as members of the wider community.

- Evidence of strong classroom management skills, demonstrated through the implementation of whole school well-being programs focused on creating a positive learning environment and promoting inclusive practices in all school settings.

Conditions

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
