Finance Analyst (Level 6) – 4–5 Month Opportunity

Employment Type: Temporary – 4 to 5 Months Immediate start available
Business Unit: Parks and Natural Environment

Are you a finance professional with strong analytical skills and a passion for supporting operational teams?

We are seeking a highly motivated, well-organised and finance-savvy individual to join the Parks and Natural Environment team as a Finance Analyst (Level 6) for a short-term role of approximately 4–5 months.

This is a great opportunity to step into a dynamic team environment where your budgeting, reporting and system improvement skills will be highly valued.

Key Responsibilities:

- Collate, monitor and review operational and capital budgets.
- Prepare accurate, timely financial reports and variance analysis.
- Provide financial advice and support to managers, coordinators and internal stakeholders.
- Assist with project costing, procurement processes and grant reporting.
- Improve financial systems, processes and reporting methods.
- Liaise with Financial Services to ensure compliance and alignment with city protocols.

About You:

- Strong skills in budgeting, financial analysis and reporting.
- Proficiency with Excel and financial systems (e.g. Finance One).
- Knowledge of accounting principles and costing methodologies.
- Great communication, time management and stakeholder engagement abilities.
- Tertiary qualification in Accounting, Business or related field – or equivalent relevant experience.
