About the roleAs Financial Analyst you will provide expert advice on Victoria's Financial Management Framework including the legal and policy frameworks that underpin the Integrated Management Cycle to the Executive Officer and wider Budget Estimates and Outcomes team.
You will make a major contribution to the analysis of the Budget Estimates and Financial and Performance Outcomes inquiries in the form of verbal advice to Members of Parliament in public hearings, financial analysis captured in draft report chapters, the preparation of briefing papers and advice to the Executive Officer.
In this role will work closely with the Lead Analyst of the Budget Estimates and Outcomes team to ensure that draft Committee reports are evidence based, technically sound and of a high standard. You will be proficient in formulating recommendations on complex budget related issues and public administration challenges.
About youThe ideal applicant has deep knowledge and understanding of major developments in the economy, the Victorian Financial Management Framework, Victorian government priorities and the funding of infrastructure and service delivery.
You have the people skills needed to build networks and maintain effective working relationships with a diverse range of staff and key stakeholders. You also possess the ability to translate the complex matters into reports for non-technical audiences.
You have sound sound experience of IT software including Excel and Power BI and a tertiary qualifications in accounting, commerce, auditing, finance, public policy or a related field.
