Job Description

Reporting to the Manager Network and Systems, the Systems Support Officer supports the operational day‑to‑day activities of the various information systems within Lotterywest which are essential for the smooth running of all the IT functions within the business. The role investigates, recommends and optimises all operations of the various systems with a focus on supporting all the business activities and providing solutions to business challenges. This role provides an escalation point for issues raised from the Lotterywest Service Desk team.

Responsibilities

- Provide high levels of customer service with a strong focus on customer satisfaction and high‑quality service delivery.

- Provide technical support for complex technical issues within Lotterywest IT systems and act as a point of escalation.

- Ensure ongoing operations of internal and external technology systems.

- Develop and maintain productive partnerships with internal and external stakeholders.

Mandatory / Special Role Requirements

- Drivers licence.

- Police clearance.

- After‑hours work.

- Demonstrated experience in monitoring, troubleshooting and development of IT systems (e.g. Active Directory, Linux, Microsoft Azure and Amazon AWS).

- Experience in developing, monitoring and maintaining the delivery of business systems (e.g. backup and storage technologies, Microsoft Windows Server and VMware vSphere).

- Well‑developed research, analysis and problem‑solving skills with the ability to identify and resolve system issues.

- Sound communication and interpersonal skills with the proven ability to develop and maintain working relationships, including collaboration skills.

- Experience or working knowledge with IT industry standards and ITIL framework.

Essential Selection Criteria

- Demonstrated experience in monitoring, troubleshooting and development of IT systems (Active Directory, Linux, Microsoft Azure, Amazon AWS).

- Experience in developing, monitoring and maintaining business systems (backup and storage technologies, Microsoft Windows Server, VMware vSphere).

- Well‑developed research, analysis and problem‑solving skills.

- Sound communication and interpersonal skills.

- Experience or knowledge of IT industry standards and ITIL framework.
