Our Defence and Security Division team within our Australian business are looking for multiple Senior Project Manager / Project Manager to support our major multidisciplinary design projects supporting new build infrastructure in Adelaide. As well as supporting these new and existing projects, this position will play an active role in improving our project management processes and approach, driving both delivery excellence and efficiency in our business.
Responsibilities
- Supporting delivery of complex project scopes on schedule, within budget, and to high quality standards in a heavily regulated Defence / Nuclear environment.
- The candidate adheres to Mott MacDonald’s global standards, assessing risks, implementing mitigations and balancing Health, Safety and Welfare
- Support client engagements and stakeholder communication at senior levels
- Help foster collaboration across internal project teams and delivery partners
- Support and proactively manage issues, drive decision making, and support resolution pathways
- Evaluate and mitigate risks for our Defence clients
- Lead and support technical and quality assurance activities relating to the design and safety analysis of nuclear infrastructure
- Play a leading role in developing the growth of nuclear sovereign skills in Australia, working closely with other members of our Global nuclear practice (inclusive of upskilling).
- Provide mentorship to staff seeking to develop their knowledge and experience in delivery of major infrastructure projects.
About You
- 5-10+ years of experience working in Defence project delivery (i.e. heavily regulated industries) in the fields of infrastructure i.e. services, civil or maritime.
- Tertiary qualifications relevant to project management or an engineering disciplines
- Experience in civil or naval nuclear programs, radiopharmaceuticals, oil and gas or Rail (applicants from other high-hazard industries will be considered)
- Chartered Engineer or Project Manager (preferred but not essential)
- Understand delivery of major infrastructure programmes throughout the whole project lifecycle (master planning through design and Construction and handover)
- Current AU security clearance (or eligibility to obtain)
- Have an understanding of nuclear safety cases and/or a heavily regulated industry (e.g Oil and Gas, Rail or Pharmaceuaticals).
- Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, expertise in risk mitigation, and proven experience in project organisation, issue management, feedback handling, scope change management, and client expectation management.
