Melville Senior High School (SHS) is a vibrant multi-cultural school which aims to provide students with a world class educational experience. The school offers students access to our highly regarded programs including an academic Gifted and Talented Selective Entrance Program. Melville SHS has Approved Specialist Programs in Aviation Studies, Graphic Design Media, and Netball in addition to a school-based merit-selected Academic Extension Course and Music in Focus program. We are also an Intensive English Centre and offer an International Fee-Paying Student program.
Melville SHS are seeking a dynamic Psychology Teacher to join their Humanities and Social Sciences (HASS) team.
The successful applicant will ideally possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills and be able to provide engaging, relevant, and meaningful learning experiences for all students. They should possess a thorough knowledge of the Psychology curriculum at Australian Tertiary Admission Rank level (ATAR), as well as experience in delivering the Humanities and Social Sciences (HASS) curriculum for Years 7 to 10. Applicants with a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment and the ability to deliver Business certificate courses will also be highly regarded.
Ideally, the successful applicant will be highly committed, collaborative and possess a strong ability to work effectively to develop high quality teaching and learning programs to meet the needs of our students and work effectively with our dedicated HASS team. They should actively participate in ongoing professional learning opportunities and continually reflect on their own teaching practice to enhance student engagement and to sustain a culture of high-quality teaching. The successful applicant will ideally work in collaboration with the Head of Learning Area and the HASS team to lead strategies and identified initiatives in HASS that continue to drive a culture of ongoing improvement in relation to student engagement, classroom teaching and student performance across Years 7 to 12.
