The School
Warnbro Community High School (WCHS) is seeking a highly motivated and effective Humanities and Social Sciences (HaSS) Teacher. Located 50 km south of Perth, WCHS provides a vibrant and nurturing learning environment that takes a holistic approach to the growth and development of our students. The school’s moral purpose is ‘to make a positive difference to the lives of young people’ and it is committed to engaging in evidence‑based practice to meet the needs of students.
This role is advertised as part of a recruitment pilot designed to simplify the application process for teachers. A mandatory CV template is provided for use; all application documents must follow the template only.
Responsibilities
- Deliver senior level HaSS curriculum, including ATAR courses.
- Implement explicit teaching approaches across all learning areas.
- Maintain a dynamic and positive classroom learning environment.
- Engage in professional development and lifelong learning.
- Respond to feedback and collaborate with colleagues and the wider community.
- Foster positive relationships with students, families and networks.
- Coach and mentor staff to achieve school‑wide consistency.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Australian or New Zealand citizenship, permanent residency, or a valid work visa for the term.
- Current WA Working with Children Check.
- Experience teaching HaSS and delivering senior school courses is desirable.
- High expectations and willingness to engage with whole‑school foundation practices.
