Overview

Join a global leader whose essential materials build our country. This is your opportunity to drive critical operations, master complex logistics, and be the one who ensures consistency across our supply chain. If you seek real career growth and a role where your operational planning directly impacts national supply, this is it.

About the Role: Transport Operations Coordinator

Randstad is proud to partner with our long-standing client, a global leader in construction and building materials, to find an experienced Transport Operations Coordinator for their Aggregates business operations.

Role Details

Reporting to the Customer Service Manager, you will be the core driver of delivery and fleet efficiency for the Aggregates business. Your primary purpose is providing efficient allocation of deliveries for both resource supply to production sites and finished product to end-users, utilising both company and subcontractor fleets to maximise safety and profitability.

This is a high-impact, goal-oriented role perfect for a determined professional who thrives on managing complex variables and ensuring smooth work-flow. You will excel at proactive planning and leverage your strong communication skills to keep operations moving.

Key Responsibilities & Impact

- Proactive Planning & Logistics: Lead the operational planning and allocation of deliveries, ensuring maximum fleet utilisation and efficiency and striving for the lowest cost of delivery.

- Contingency Management: Handle day-to-day challenges (like weather impacts, urgent priority requests, or resource availability) by quickly re-planning driver runs and coordinating follow-up actions (e.g., coordinating with production). Escalate incidences or any issues in a timely and efficient manner to minimise delivery disruptions.

- Driver Communication: Maintain effective communication with Cartage Contractors and Plant Production Supervisors.

- Systems & Documentation: Maintain accurate data entry into allocation systems and diligently document delivery issues. You will constantly monitor work in progress.

- Safety & Compliance: Ensure all drivers and vehicles strictly comply with all road rules, heavy vehicle requirements, and fatigue management laws.

What We're Looking For

- Logistics Expertise: Proven experience in a high-volume allocation, transport, or dispatch role. A background in the Concrete, Construction or Manufacturing industry is highly regarded.

- Operational Agility: Goal-oriented, focused on efficiency, and excel in a fast-paced environment. You are accustomed to the demands of logistics and thrive on managing complexity.

- System Competency: Competent in planning and navigating multiple systems and platforms. You must have accurate data entry skills and intermediate knowledge of working in spreadsheets.

- Problem-Solving: You excel at issue resolution and maintaining flow despite unexpected challenges.

- Compliance & Process: A keen eye for detail with a commitment to ensuring all activities align with Regulatory Compliance and internal processes.

- Safety Focus: A strong awareness of safety policies and procedures and the commitment to ensure compliance is required.
