About the Role
A fantastic opportunity to build a career with George Weston Foods as part of a supportive team
MAURI, part of the George Weston Foods Group, is a leading supplier of high-quality flours, yeasts, pre-mixes, improvers, and grains.
We have a great opportunity for a Transport Coordinator to join our team in Queensland. The role is currently based at our off-site warehouse facility in Kedron, with the potential to move to our production site in Moorooka.
Reporting to the Warehouse & Distribution Manager, in this critical role you will be responsible for the support and administration functions within the QLD region for all Mauri divisions and the scheduling of bulk transport movements, ensuring that all respective functions are completed safely and accurately with the designated time frames via assigned methodology.
The Transport Coordinator plays a vital role in the delivery of MAURI's strategy by ensuring that all warehouse and transport needs are met in line with plans, schedules, customer and business requirements, always observing safety as a priority, and by assisting in the operation of the Supply Chain functions.
This role will require occasionally taking calls after hours and on weekends to address customer, business and carrier requirements and changes.
**The key responsibilities of the role include**:
- Completing and maintaining changes to daily bulk flour allocations as required and distributing updated schedules to respective parties
- Completing all requests for delivery information for Bagged and Bulk Flour and Millrun
- Playing an active role in creating a safe working environment by participating in and adhering to all Health, Safety and Environmental policies and activities and reporting all hazards, injuries and incidents
- Minimising costs through effective scheduling and by participating in cost reduction and continuous improvement initiatives across the supply chain
- Managing driver returns, claims, returns and credits, working with the credit team to investigate and action credits as needed
- Reconciling outstanding pallets
- Preparing DIFOT numbers for morning meeting and attending in absence of Warehouse & Distribution Manager as required
- Completing regular warehousing & distribution reporting
- Assisting with compliance and internal auditing of GMP, SQF, ISO and HACCP accreditation
What's in it for you?
- A Safe, Courageous, Trusting, and Collaborative culture, in line with our values
- Personal development and skill development opportunities and the potential to build a long-term career with George Weston Foods
- Inclusion in company bonus scheme
- Employee benefits including preferential Hotel rates across Australia and New Zealand and discounted private healthcare
- An equal opportunity employer who believes in embracing diversity and encourages everyone to bring their full, authentic self to work
What will you bring to the role?
To be successful in this role, it will be beneficial for you to have the following skills and experience:
- Freight management, including fleet optimisation and building relationships with operational partners
- Using SAP for Transport, Inventory and general use
- Negotiation
- Intermediate Excel capability
- Strong communication skills
- Attention to detail
Certificate IV qualifications in Transport and/or Warehousing & Distribution would be an advantage but not necessary.
Most importantly, we are looking for someone that is enthusiastic, and hungry to learn, who shares our values of Safe, Courageous, Trusting and Collaborative, and can bring their full, unique self to add to our great company culture.
