The Opportunity

This isn/'t your typical PR role. We are seeking a creative and hands-on Communications Manager to own our narrative and build our presence across Australia and New Zealand (ANZ). You will be the storyteller-in-chief for the region, responsible for developing and delivering a comprehensive communications strategy that goes far beyond media headlines.

Your mission is to connect with our key audiences—from developers and practitioners to C-suite executives—in authentic and meaningful ways. You will manage our relationships with the media most relevant to Elastic’s target audience groups, while concentrating on high-impact initiatives such as customer advocacy and internal executive activities communications. This is a unique opportunity to build a program from the ground up and make a tangible impact on Elastic/'s growth in a key market.

What You Will Be Doing

- Lead the Narrative: Develop, implement, and deliver a multi-channel communications plans earned, owned and paid channels for ANZ that aligns with our global strategy and local business objectives. You will define our key messages and find the most effective ways to share them.
- Develop Executive Platforms: Coach and support our local spokespeople, redefining their deep technical expertise into compelling thought leadership. You will identify the right speaking opportunities and platforms, including LinkedIn, for them to shine.
- Elevate Customer Storytelling: Serve as the crucial link between our ANZ Sales team and the global Customer Advocacy team. You will proactively partner with Sales to identify and surface the most impactful customer wins, then collaborate with the Advocacy team to transform these successes into powerful public narratives, including media stories, press releases, interviews, and event presentations.
- Foster Internal Connection: Ensure our growing ANZ team is informed, connected, and engaged with our mission and milestones through effective internal communications.

What You Will Bring

- Proven Experience: You have 6-8 years of experience in B2B technology communications or marketing communications, either in-house or at an agency (with significant in-house experience preferred).
- A Storyteller/'s Perspective: You are passionate about translating sophisticated technical concepts into clear, compelling narratives that resonate with different audiences, from a DevOps engineer to a CIO.
- Strategic & Hands-On: You can devise a high-level plan but aren/'t afraid to roll up your sleeves to write a blog post or prep an executive for a presentation.
- Exceptional Relationship Builder: You are skilled at establishing rapport and trust with a wide range of people, including customers, journalists, engineers, and sales leaders.
- Superb Written and Verbal Communication Skills: Your writing is crisp, clear, and adaptable.
- A Curious & Growth Mindset: You are curious about technology, business, and what makes people tick. You are proactive, adaptable, and thrive in a fast-paced, distributed environment.
