The opportunity

We are seeking an Industry Capability Specialist to join our Supply Chain Excellence team within the BDA Supply Chain Management (SCM) capability. In this role, you will play a key part in supporting BDA's Australian Industry Capability (AIC) Program deliverables across various programs including MQ-28 Ghost Bat. Your responsibilities will include stakeholder engagement, financial analysis, and reporting. You will report to the Manager, Governance and Industry and work closely with the SCM Strategy and Industry Stream Lead.

- Supporting BDA's AIC Program deliverables across multiple programs, ensuring compliance with Department of Defence and contract requirements, and collaborating with Strategy and Industry Stream colleagues to deliver AIC artefacts.
- Conducting reporting activities, which involve collecting, organizing and analysing data to present findings that meet specific requirements, guidelines, and rules. This includes working with multiple datasets and ensuring that reporting aligns with business needs.
- Providing subject matter expertise on the AIC Program, including the AIC requirements of the Australian Standard for Defence Contracting (ASDEFCON) suite, Defence industry policies, and relevant government legislation and guidance.
- Engaging with Australian industry to identify opportunities, new suppliers, and emerging innovations that align with BDA's critical capabilities.
- Supporting BDA's initiatives and programs aimed at small and medium Australian enterprises, as well as Indigenous-owned, veteran-owned, and women-owned businesses. Identifying opportunities for BDA to engage with and support the Australian industry, and contributing to relevant events as needed.
- Ensuring ongoing assurance of BDA's AIC Programs, maintaining alignment with legislation, complex contracts, and Australian Government policies. This includes documenting and updating relevant procedures, policies, and processes.
- Assisting with the activities and deliverables of the Strategy and Industry Stream.

To be successful you will have:

- Demonstrated ability to work in a team and build collaborative and positive relationships with a range of stakeholders.
- A self-driven and meticulous individual who effectively identifies and addresses problems.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including proficiency in presenting and writing reports (business sector experience is desirable). Able to effectively engage with a diverse range of stakeholders and adapt communication styles to meet their specific needs.
- Proven experience in financial reporting within a contractual framework, including data interpretation, analysis, reporting, and assurance.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, and familiarity with other Microsoft Office Suites.
- Experience working within a legislative framework, complex commercial contracts (Defence procurement experience is desirable), Australian Government policies and guidelines.
- Tertiary education in commerce, finance, law, business, management or supply chain management is desirable.
- Applicants must be Australian Citizens to meet Defence security requirements with the ability to obtain and maintain an Australian Government security clearance at Baseline as a minimum.
