**Who are we looking for?**
We are seeking a Reporting Capability Specialist to join Digital Business Solution, Administrative Division.
The Reporting Capability Specialist will play a lead role in facilitating data-driven thinking across QUT by identifying decision making requirements and equipping stakeholders to create fit-for-purpose presentations of data and information based on client needs. The incumbent is driven to inspire stakeholders to pursue new possibilities through the design and development of reports, dashboards and interactive visualisations that clearly communicate information using best practice design principles. This role will work closely with end-users, business analysts, and analytics leads to design effective dashboards, reports, visualisation widgets and portals that intuitively communicate data and insights.

**About the area**
Digital Business Solutions (DBS) provides support for staff and students across a range of information and technology services. DBS uses technology to create value for our students and customers through the portfolios of Learning and Teaching, Research and Innovation, and Professional Services. DBS embraces digital transformation as being fundamental to our service in supporting QUT’s aspirations outlined in Blueprint 6. Digital Business Solutions is responsible for a wide range of services in delivering and supporting digital solutions for QUT. DBS comprises seven business units with dynamic knowledge and expertise that work collectively with the University’s Faculties, Institutes and Divisions to provide quality Digital Solutions and Services in support of both QUT’s Strategic Objectives and in core operations for learning and teaching, research and innovation and professional services..
**What you need to succeed**
- Education, training and/or relevant experience equivalent to postgraduate qualifications in Data Science, Data Analytics, or similar with at least 3 years’ experience in a large and complex organisation.
- High-level interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills with the ability to tell stories with data, quickly establish rapport and manage collaborative working relationships, engage with diverse client groups and work effectively in a high performance team to achieve business outcomes.
- Well versed in best practice visualisation design techniques with demonstrated ability to design appropriate approaches for data / information presentation, across multiple channels.
- Expert knowledge in user experience design methodologies with demonstrated ability to communicate large amounts of information intuitively, and designing intuitive experiences that limit the training required for end users.
- Experience with multiple visualisation technologies and methodologies which includes prototyping with wire frames, various data discovery / visualisation technologies and experience with digital collaboration technologies.
- Demonstrated experience in mentoring / coaching / inspiring virtual teams or communities to uplift maturity in visualisation, information presentation and communication best practices.
