The Curriculum Specialist, General Capabilities provides expert advice on all matters relating to the area of responsibility, with a particular focus on, undertaking curriculum research, developing resources and professional learning, and engaging with stakeholders to support the Australian Curriculum. This role encompasses the supporting implementation and monitoring and evaluation phases of the curriculum development process.
About the position:
- Complete, to the highest standard, Australian Curriculum work plan deliverables, for the Australian Curriculum: General Capabilities.
- Provide expert advice and support to senior management on all matters relating to the Australian Curriculum: General Capabilities, including preparing briefings, research materials, papers, presentations and other tasks.
- Undertake research, monitoring and evaluation, and stakeholder engagement activities to inform improvements to the curriculum and support materials for the Australian Curriculum: General Capabilities.
- Design, develop, review and edit content and resources (including work samples, curriculum planning examples, face-to-face and online professional learning and Professional Learning Hub modules) based on available data to assist teachers to deliver the Australian Curriculum.
To be successful, you will have:
- Tertiary qualifications in education or equivalent experience in curriculum design and implementation in primary or secondary settings.
- Demonstrated involvement in the development and delivery of the curriculum in a school setting, including reference to the Australian Curriculum: General Capabilities.
- High level conceptual and analytical skills, including the ability to independently undertake research, prepare briefing papers and reports, and provide strategic advice to senior management
- High level written and verbal communication skills that enable the generation of high-quality research material, curriculum documents, presentations, briefing papers and any other items relating to the specialist area or as required by the Curriculum business unit.

ACARA offers an attractive salary package dependent on the skills and experience of the successful candidate, commencing at $123,964 base per annum, as a full-time equivalent (plus superannuation).
