Property Asset Manager Full-time Temporary with a Possibility of Permanency Details: Infrastructure Canberra is seeking a skilled Property Manager to join the Project Initiation, Planning and Development Branch within the Pipeline, Capability and Estate Group. This position works collaboratively across four branches within Pipeline, Capability and Estate and regularly engages with business units across Infrastructure Canberra on a wide range of matters. Business Unit Overview – The Team You Will Work In The Planning and Strategic Asset Management team within Infrastructure Canberra has an overarching view on the 250+ buildings and properties within the portfolio (which include commercial offices, swimming pools, libraries, community facilities, childcares and depots). The group develops and maintains asset registers, forward plans and budgets for asset upgrades and replacements, oversees procurement and contract planning, and manages the acquisition and disposal of assets. The team also provides advice to other teams on emerging issues related to estate matters (such as maintenance, inspection programs, upgrades, sustainability initiatives and leasing). Position Overview This role is suited to someone with a background in property upgrades, building or asset management and a commitment to ensure good management of government property. Working in a team you will assist with ensuring the building assets managed by Infrastructure Canberra are managed well through the lifecycle. You will need to be able to see the big picture, forward plan, and build a case for the required resources and priorities. The role may supervise other staff providing operational property management, strategic planning and ensuring the portfolio of properties are upgraded and maintained to agreed standards. The planning and strategic estate management team within Infrastructure Canberra has an overarching view on the buildings, develops and maintains asset registers and plans, forward plans asset upgrades, acquisition and disposal of assets and includes sustainability planning improvements. The team ensures that buildings are maintained, inspection programs are in place, reactive maintenance is managed effectively, and leasing is maximised to provide return to Government. The team also provides advice on emerging issues across the estate. Infrastructure Canberra provides expert property management and maintenance services to the ACT Government and the community. The group manages and maintains buildings and property that enable the ACT Government to provide Government and community services. The group supports the ACT Government’s delivery of its services through flexible, efficient and cost-effective accommodation solutions and property services. Community services and support are also enabled through the provision of properties to community organisations at affordable rental rates. Infrastructure Canberra operates on a fee-for-service basis with a requirement to provide a dividend to government. Eligibility/Other Requirements: - Hold or have the capacity to obtain White Card and Asbestos Awareness. - Qualifications in property management, procurement, project management, building trades, commercial real estate and/or asset management are highly desirable. - Membership or the ability to obtain membership with relevant professional organisation(s) is desirable. Notes: This is a temporary position available immediately for a period of 12 months with the possibility of permanency. A Merit Pool will be established from this selection process and will be used to fill vacancies over the next 12 months. Selection may be based on application and referee reports only.
