Full-time Temporary with a Possibility of Permanency
Details: Strategic Finance is seeking a motivated, well organised person who possesses the following skills to effectively perform the role and functions of a Senior Procurement and Contracts Officer:
- Experience in ACT Government procurement and contract management
- Ability to apply procurement legislation and policy in an operational environment
- High level administrative, interpersonal and organisational skills
The Senior Procurement Officer will provide guidance and assistance to business units while ensuring compliance under the Government Procurement Act 2001 (ACT), Government Procurement Regulations 2007 (ACT) and relevant policies and procedures, will help develop and implement procurement legislation, policies and procedures that are effective, practical and can be readily applied to procurement activities.
The Senior Procurement Officer will develop and maintain robust partnerships with internal, external and industry stakeholders. Additionally, responsibilities may include assisting with contract administration, sourcing and purchasing activities.
Eligibility/Other requirements: Qualifications and/or experience in procurement / contract management is highly desirable.
Notes: This is a temporary position available immediately until 09 February 2026 with the possibility of extension up to 12 months and/or permanency.
An order of merit will be established from this selection process and may be used to fill future identical vacancies over the next 12 months.
This position will be working in an activity-based working (ABW) environment. Under ABW arrangements, officers will not have a designated workstation/desk.
