# Project OfficerBrisbane Canberra Melbourne1 October 2025### Job DescriptionRemote are seeking Project Officers to joiin the team in ASD. The Project Officers will assist in the operations of a Project/Program/Portfolio Office and the delivery of projects. They will be accountable to contribute to the development and maintenance of project, program and/or portfolio planning and performance process in accordance with agreed procedures and performance standards and assist with preparations for project test, evaluation and acceptance programs. (LH-04688)##### Role Description**Key duties and responsibilities*** Accountable to contribute to the development and maintenance of project, program and/or portfolio planning and performance process in accordance with agreed procedures and performance standards.* Assist with preparations for project test, evaluation and acceptance programs.* Apply project methodologies to administrative and technical activities.* Research, draft and prepare briefs, correspondence and reports including submissions for committee consideration.* Work collaboratively, operate as an effective team member and provide constructive feedback.* Engage with relevant stakeholders as requested by senior project management.* Maintain financial records under the direction of the Project Manager.* Conduct other project related tasks within the scope of the stated APS level, as required by the business area.**Technical skills*** Minimum 3 years’ experience in a Project Officer or similar role.* Knowledge of project management methodologies such as PRINCE2, SaFE etc.* Experience with Microsoft 365 and other project applications.**Essential criteria*** Portfolio, programme and project support (PROF) level 3 - Provides foundational support for projects, programmes, or portfolios. Assists with planning, scheduling, tracking and reporting using established tools and processes. Follows recommended solutions to ensure accurate documentation and communication of project progress. Collaborates closely with project teams and stakeholders, gathering updates and information to maintain project records and ensure alignment with project objectives. Participates in project boards, assurance teams and quality review meetings when necessary.* Project management (PRMG) level 4 - Defines, documents and executes small projects or sub-projects. Works independently or with a small team, actively participating in all project phases. Applies appropriate project management methods and tools. Identifies, assesses and manages risks effectively. Prepares realistic project plans ((including scope, schedule, quality, risk and communication plans), ensuring stakeholder involvement and alignment with organisational governance standards. Tracks activities against the project schedule, managing stakeholder involvement as appropriate. Monitors costs, times, quality and resources used. Takes action where these exceed agreed tolerances.* Quality management (QUMG) level 3 - Uses appropriate methods and a systematic approach to developing, maintaining, controlling and distributing quality and environmental standards. Makes technical changes to and controls the updates and distribution of quality standards. Distributes new and revised standards.Location, ,* Skill set* Experience* Clearance* LocationJohn Bath has many years of experience delivering ICT capability within the Defence and National Security sectors.He played pivotal roles in ASD’s cloud transformation programmes and was the lead solution designer for the National Criminal Intelligence System.**Kate Dyce** has been involved in ICT capability development and support, project and program management, and team leadership in Defence and National Security settings since 2006.She has proven skills in the use of PRINCE and Agile methods for leading and delivering complex ICT projects involving infrastructure, data storage and processing and intelligence analysis applications.Kate has a long history of effective stakeholder engagement, including representation to senior leadership, industry, NIC and overseas partners.Kate’s role as Operations Manager includes the coordination of Remote’s services to Commonwealth and Commercial clients. She is responsible for ensuring Remote’s services match the requirements of our clients as well as the provision of support and mentoring to Remote’s consultants.**Daniel Flynn** is responsible for Remote’s Defence and National Security clients. With over a decade of experience managing and delivering intelligence capabilities within the Defence domain.He is ideally suited to supporting the expansion of Remote’s capabilities around Australia for national security clients.Lee Bath has a long history as a manager in public sector and industry roles. After leaving Perth to join the ADF at a young age, she has since fulfilled senior business management roles in a variety of settings.Lee has more than 20 years of experience managing businesses and operations in Defence and defence industry settings.Lee decided to become a partner in Remote so that she could run a company like one she always wished she could work in.**Susan Trinh** was a consultant for Remote for five years in a range of Project Management roles within the Defence and national security sectors prior to taking on the role of Business Manager.Susan has 10 years of experience in a range of business and governance functions, as well as significant time spent delivering and operating capabilities at the coal face of Australia’s intelligence and cyber security operations.On top of her Business responsibilities, Susan is growing Remote’s presence in Melbourne as we expand to meet the needs of our clients.
