The Role

In this role, you will manage building service and home building work contract complaints under delegation or authorisation under the Building Services (Complaint Resolution and Administration) Act 2011 and determine how to deal with complaints, including making recommendations and drafting orders for issue.

Drawing on your experience, you will prepare investigation reports, referrals to our technical branch and recommendation outcomes to the Building Commissioner’s Delegate in accordance with the Act.

You will maintain effective relationships within the Disputes Branch, assist your team members who manage routine complaints, provide administrative support where required, and liaise with other teams within the Compliance Directorate to ensure appropriate investigations.

Eligibility and Qualifications

- Australian citizen, permanent resident, or visa to live and work indefinitely in Australia.

- Experience in dispute resolution.

- Demonstrated ability to identify and find solutions to problems.

- Demonstrated ability to produce reports including recommendations.

- Certification or academic transcripts to verify relevance to the job requirements if required.

To work for LGIRS, you must consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a clearance before you start.
