This is a permanent full time position commencing Term 1, 2026

The School

Lesmurdie Senior High School (SHS) is a co-educational school catering to around 1000 students, supported by 100 staff. Our focus is to deliver a challenging yet supportive learning environment, enabling students to achieve academic, sporting and cultural success. The school is located in the Perth Hills and is BYOD-enabled.

The Role

Lesmurdie SHS is seeking to appoint a passionate and innovative Humanities and Social Sciences (HASS) teacher who is responsive to change and caters for the learning styles of future ready students. The successful applicant should have a proven ability to foster independent and confident learners and be willing to join a team of like-minded professionals.

The successful applicant will ideally possess excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to deliver high-quality curriculum within the HASS Learning Area. A thorough understanding of instructional and curriculum design is desirable, with knowledge of Careers and Employability and the ability to lead curriculum design in Lower School Economics advantageous.

You should be reflective in assessing the effectiveness of your teaching and capable of cultivating a safe and accountable learning environment, underpinning the school’s core value of respect. You should work collaboratively with all members of the school and wider community to provide engaging, relevant and meaningful learning experiences.

Eligibility

To work with us, you must:

- hold an eligible teacher qualification and registration

- be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident or have a valid visa with relevant work rights for the term of the appointment

- apply for a WA Working with Children Check before you start

- consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number before you start
