Overview
We are seeking to establish a pool of Science Teachers for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2026 school year. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.
School
Balcatta Senior High School (SHS) is situated in the northern suburbs of Perth. As an Independent Public School, decisions are made at the local level to meet the needs of our school community. We strive to provide an inclusive and enriching educational experience that values diversity and supports student success.
The Role
As a Science Teacher, you will be a conscientious, flexible, and innovative educator committed to the holistic development of every student. You will actively engage in the school and wider community, reflect on your teaching practices, and demonstrate evidence-based decision-making and differentiation.
We seek applicants with a passion for teaching science at the secondary level and a solid understanding of the Western Australian Curriculum. Applicants who can teach ATAR Physics, Chemistry, Human Biology and Psychology would be highly regarded but not essential. You will deliver a curriculum tailored to diverse student needs, foster an inclusive environment, and be willing to take on extra-curricular duties. The ability to teach outside of the learning area is desirable.
Ideal candidates will have outstanding interpersonal and communication skills and a strong commitment to achieving high educational outcomes for all students in an inclusive and safe learning environment. You should create engaging learning experiences, incorporate technology, accommodate individual student needs, provide timely feedback to students and parents, and celebrate curiosity and creativity. Strong teamwork and a commitment to promoting learning and excellence for all students are important. Experience with High Impact Teaching Strategies is desirable; the school has an established Whole School Instructional Framework.
