As a vital part of our emergency department team, you’ll be in a frontline position for patients, staff, and visitors - delivering exceptional customer service and ensuring patients and carers have access to exceptional healthcare. From completing initial patient registrations, inpatient admissions, emergency switchboard duties, and frontline administrative tasks your skills and empathy will shape the first impression of our Health Service.
This dynamic position involves more than administrative duties—it’s a chance to thrive in a fast-paced frontline environment where your decision-making, multitasking, and communication skills will be utilised. You will carry out numerous duties, be proactive, work as part of a team, ensure accurate data integrity, maintain confidentiality and privacy as well as contributing to improving our health service. What You'll be Doing The Emergency Department Administration Officer provides a wide range of administration and clerical support with timely and accurate delivery of quality services and ensuring and maintaining a strong customer focused approach.
Where You'll Be Working Liverpool Hospital, founded in 1813, is the major health service for south-western Sydney, providing services to the local government area of Liverpool City Council as well as district services to residents and visitors in the area. It also provides a range of state-wide services in areas such as critical care and trauma, neonatal intensive care and brain injury rehabilitation. The Hospital provides a health service of international standing, with 23 operating theatres, capacity for 877 beds, diagnostic and imaging services, emergency and trauma care, maternity, paediatric, cancer care, mental health, ambulatory care, allied health and medical and surgical services from birth to aged care. Liverpool Hospital is currently undergoing a major redevelopment. The $790 million Liverpool Health and Academic Precinct (LHAP) project will provide enhanced facilities and an increased capacity to meet future significant population growth for South Western Sydney. Liverpool Hospital is a principal referral and teaching Hospital of the UNSW Sydney and the Western Sydney University and also welcome students from over 20 universities and colleges. Located in the heart of Liverpool City, the hospital is close to public transport, shopping centres and eateries.

How would you respond to de-escalate the situation, maintain professionalism, and ensure the issue is resolved appropriately.
- Ability to work a 24 hour, 7 days rotating roster, tocover day shifts, evening shifts and night shifts within the emergency department.
