About Us
The Department of Justice and Community Safety (the department) delivers a justice and community safety system that works to build a safer, fairer, and stronger Victoria.
The Finance and Procurement business unit provides department-wide financial, procurement and workplace services through strategic leadership and setting the direction, policy, and processes, and partnering with the department to build capability.
The Finance Branch leads the department/'s efforts to comply with government and legislative financial management responsibilities while driving a culture of strategic financial management across the department. It is responsible for the department/'s financial and budgetary policies and processes, including statutory reporting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, taxation compliance, government reporting (including Standing Directions), and facilitation of the annual budget process.
About the Role
The Finance Officer Helpdesks will primarily support the accounts payable and purchasing functions by providing expert support and advice to the department, Courts Services Victoria and external suppliers in relation to purchasing and invoice management activities, including policy and process education, and data rectification.
Some of your duties will include:
- Controlling, managing and actioning to finality all inbound enquiries to the various accounts payable, purchasing support and supplier portal mailboxes.
- Performsupplier statement reconciliations to comply with our government payment obligations and avoid late payment penalties and stop supply situations.
- Educate external suppliers and internal business units in policies, processes and procedures in relation to purchasing, purchase orders, invoice processing and management, and accounts payable functions.
About You
To be successful in this role you will be able to demonstrate:
- A sound operational knowledge of Oracle Purchasing and/or Oracle Financials is required.
- Excellent understanding of the accounts payable and purchasing functions end to end.
- Strong analysis, critical thinking and problem solving skills.
