Cairns Regional, Australia ClearCompany Full time

The Opportunity

We are partnering with NATSIHA to appoint a highly organised, reliable and culturally aware Executive Assistant to join their growing team. This role will provide expert support to the CEO, Board, and broader leadership team. It is a diverse and senior administrative role that sits at the heart of the organisation; balancing strategic oversight, secretariat duties, governance compliance, executive coordination, and ministerial liaison.

You’ll bring previous board experience, including minute taking and supporting governance agendas, and be confident managing diaries and coordinating travel arrangements. You’ll play an integral role in a passionate, high-performing team committed to closing the housing gap for First Nations peoples.

About the Organisation

NATSIHA is the first and only national leadership body for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Housing in Australia. Their purpose is to facilitate access to quality, accessible, affordable and culturally appropriate housing to help empower Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander individuals, families and communities to optimise their health and wellbeing and improve their employment opportunities, access to education, connection to the community and sense of home.

What You’ll Be Doing

- Provide executive-level support to the CEO including calendar and travel management, priority tracking, and coordination of timelines for key deliverables.

- Deliver high-level secretariat support to the Board and Committees, including preparation of agendas, accurate minute-taking, action tracking, and timely distribution of materials.

- Assist the Company Secretary in maintaining statutory and governance registers and ensure compliance with recordkeeping and governance protocols.

- Rebuild and maintain structured, secure and accessible digital and physical filing systems across executive and Board functions.

- Manage complex travel itineraries for the CEO and senior staff, ensuring alignment with strategic priorities.

- Act as a key liaison with ministerial offices and senior government stakeholders, supporting engagement and meeting logistics with professionalism and protocol.

- Oversee daily operations and ensure smooth running of the CEO’s office, including invoice processing and procurement support.

- Contribute to internal and external event planning and stakeholder engagement initiatives.

- Foster a positive, inclusive and respectful organisational culture, aligned with NATSIHA’s values.

About You

We’re looking for a confident, capable, first nations individual who thrives in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment, and who can take initiative to improve systems, communication and processes across the executive office.

You’ll bring:

- Proven experience in high-level administrative or executive support, ideally in a governance, policy or advocacy environment.

- Strong understanding of Board and governance requirements, including agenda setting, minute taking, and recordkeeping.

- Experience working with First Nations organisations, peak bodies or in the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community housing sector will be highly regarded.

- A high degree of professionalism, discretion, and cultural sensitivity when engaging with a range of stakeholders.

- Strong Microsoft Office and digital collaboration skills (e.g. SharePoint, Teams, Zoom).

- Excellent communication, time management and organisational skills.

- Ability to proactively manage competing priorities and support strategic timelines with minimal supervision.

Why Join NATSIHA?

This is a unique opportunity to:

- Play a key role in a national movement to improve housing outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

- Work closely with a respected and visionary leadership team.

- NATSIHA employees can receive a salary package of up to $15.9K tax-free each FBT year.

- Join an organisation that values cultural safety, impact, integrity and respect.

- Be part of building something transformative—NATSIHA is still growing, and you’ll help shape the team's future.

Additional Information

- Appointment is subject to a National Police Check and Working with Children Check.

- Some interstate travel may be required.

- Applications from First Nations candidates highly desirable.
