Whyalla, Australia Santos Limited Full time

Description & Requirements

Don’t come for an easy career. Stay for a rewarding one.

At Santos, we do work that matters and always have. When you join us, so will you.

As an ASX 20 global energy company, we’re committed to providing reliable and affordable energy to help create a better world for everyone.

To make it happen, we work as One Team and ask ourselves, “How can we?” (Even when others say, “We can’t.”)

We’re proud of our history as pioneers, problem‑solvers, and pragmatists. And as we strive to achieve our Vision2040, we’ve got our sights set on a culture that is focussed and disciplined to drive value, and entrepreneurial and energised to leave a positive legacy.

The difference isn’t just thinking big – it’s delivering on it too.

As part of the team, you’ll tackle one of the most complex problems of our time. It’s no easy task, but nothing rewarding ever is.

What you’ll do:

Based in our Corporate Head Office in Adelaide and reporting to the General Manager People & Culture, the Senior People Business Partner is responsible for planning and implementing a vast array of generalist HR initiatives. This role contributes and adds value to the business in areas of generalist human resource planning and action, supports change management and organisational development initiatives.

Key responsibilities include:

- Supporting the business to manage and empower employees to implement the business strategy and ensure role accountabilities are clearly communicated and understood

- Coaching and developing leaders to optimise performance and commitment

- Ensuring compliance with and adherence to company standards and processes

- Understanding the workforce planning requirements of the business and contribute to budgeting and approval processes

- Organisation design and implementation

- Supporting integration of merger and acquisition activity

- Providing support to ensure the continuous upgrading of capabilities and commitment associated with building a high‑performance culture

- Driving change programs in line with Santos’ vision, values and commercial imperatives

- Facilitating the implementation of the annual People & Culture processes with leaders; talent management, performance planning process, performance review, bonus and salary review, and employee development

- Working with the Corporate People & Culture Centres of excellence to rollout new or improvement initiatives in these areas

- Identifying and acting on opportunities to improve team effectiveness, collaboration and information sharing in order to improve business performance

- Increasing line managers’ understanding and effectiveness in delivering desired people outcomes via HR policy/process while reducing the need for HR intervention

- Contributing to the overall leadership and strategic development of the division by providing expertise, advice and recommendations on matters pertaining to the people management of the customer group

What you’ll bring:

You will need to have extensive experience in a HR generalist delivery role partnering with senior leaders in a medium to large corporate environment. Previous experience in Oil and Gas and/or Resources and/or Construction/Manufacturing would be an advantage.

You will need to demonstrate a collaborative and flexible business approach in working with a broader HR team as well as with your client group and utilise your strong written and verbal communication skills to influence and work effectively with senior leaders and internal and external stakeholders.

You enjoy working in a fast paced, complex environment with challenging projects that have significant impact for the business. Tertiary qualifications in HR, Psychology, Business, or a related discipline is required.

What you’ll get:

Here, you’ll be amongst high‑calibre people and get to work on industry‑leading projects. We don’t shy away from solving tough problems at pace. We like it that way. You can expect to be challenged and supported; to learn and grow.

At Santos, we’re committed to creating a workplace where everyone can thrive. This means a place that is safe; where you are valued and respected, and your contribution is recognised and appreciated. Join us, and you’ll play a role in this too.

Each of our sites offer access to specific amenities that aim to create the best possible benefits to your health, wellbeing and performance. In Adelaide, this includes Onsite Gym facilities, Onsite GP services and many more employee benefits.

What you’re part of:

Everywhere you turn you will be a part of a team who are coming together to contribute to our single uniting purpose - to provide reliable and affordable energy to help create a better world for everyone.

And because it’s not only what you do, but how you do it, you will also contribute to improving the living standards of the communities where we operate, building enduring and respectful relationships that serve a generation. It’s about each of us, and all of us – together.

How to Apply:

Applications must be submitted via the online recruitment system before end of day 23rd November 2025.
