We’re on a mission to become Australia’s leading digital insurer—and we’re looking for a Senior Worker's Compensation Underwriter who shares our ambition. In this role, you’ll support the underwriting of our workers compensation portfolios, applying expert judgement and leveraging digital tools to deliver exceptional customer outcomes. You’ll collaborate with distribution partners, product teams, and fellow underwriters to drive growth, innovation, and underwriting excellence.

You’ll also play a key role in supporting strategic initiatives and contributing to the evolution of our underwriting frameworks—all while helping shape the future of workers compensation insurance in a digital-first environment.

Responsibilities

- You will be responsible for your own portfolio analysing new and renewal business within specific limits and authority

- Ensure that all Workers Compensation Insurance business is handled effectively and in line with our agreed service standards and principals

- Collaborate with brokers and internal teams to deliver tailored workers compensation insurance solutions

- Leverage data insights and digital tools to inform pricing, coverage decisions, and risk assessments

- Partner across Claims, Distribution, and other underwriting lines to support multi-line opportunities

- Contribute to underwriting innovation by sharing insights and supporting proposition development.

We’re looking for an insurance professional with strong commercial acumen and a digital mindset—someone who can balance risk with opportunity, lead change, and collaborate across teams to drive underwriting excellence and innovation.

Qualifications

- A minimum of 5 years underwriting experience, preferrable workers compensation.

- Understanding of underwriting systems, digital platforms, and data analytics.

- Skilled in risk assessment using both traditional and digital methodologies.

- Effective communicator and collaborator with internal teams and external partners.

- Strong customer facing experience, with the confidence to build and grow Broker relationships

- Self-motivated with excellent communication skills, problem-solving and negation skills

- Demonstrate technical underwriting knowledge and capabilities.
