The Role

- Product Design & Innovation: Develop innovative, functional, and visually appealing window and door designs that align with market needs and G.James's strategic objectives.
- Technical Development: Use CAD and design tools to create detailed drawings, 3D models, and technical specifications, ensuring compliance with Australian standards and performance requirements.
- Engineering Integration: Apply principles of industrial design and engineering to create practical, cost-effective, and manufacturable products, optimising for materials, production methods, and efficiency.
- Prototyping & Testing: Support prototype creation, participate in performance testing (AS2047, acoustics, security, energy, etc.), and implement design improvements based on results.
- Collaboration & Support: Work closely with the Product Manager, engineering team, and Product & Testing Coordinator to execute the product roadmap and maintain accurate design documentation.

The Applicant
To be successful in this role, you will possess the following skills, knowledge, and attributes:

- Advanced CAD skills (AutoCAD, Inventor, 3DS Max), 3D modelling, technical drawing, and strong knowledge of materials and manufacturing processes.
- Understands technical concepts, can collaborate across teams, and documents design decisions for both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Ability to build strong internal relationships, shares knowledge, support team goals, and considers the broader impact of design decisions.
- Can handle multiple projects, prioritise effectively, solve complex design issues, and make informed, practical decisions.
