The Opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced After Sales and Major Projects Manager to join our team in Muswellbrook.

In this pivotal leadership role, you will oversee project delivery and client relationships across the Hunter valley region. You will manage a team of Project Managers and work closely with internal stakeholders to ensure the successful execution of major projects including new equipment assembly, machine rebuilds and shutdowns while driving business growth through after-sales service and support.

This role is ideal for a results-driven professional who is passionate about machine health, operational excellence, and customer satisfaction.

Your Key Responsibilities

- Champion a safety-first culture with a strong focus on personal responsibility and team wellbeing.
- Lead and support a team of Project Managers in delivering high-impact projects on time and within budget.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships, ensuring satisfaction and repeat business.
- Promote Hitachi parts, services, and maintenance solutions to drive after-sales growth.
- Develop and implement strategic initiatives to improve performance, equipment reliability, and reduce maintenance costs.
- Ensure all Work in Progress (WIP) is effectively tracked, managed, and closed in a timely manner.
- Coordinate and oversee the successful execution of new machine assembly, shutdowns, and other major project work.
- Provide high-level customer support and communication to key customer contacts at all levels ensuring customer issues are resolved in a timely manner.

What You’ll Need to Succeed

- Proven experience in a management, technical, or business development role within the mining or heavy equipment industry (OEM experience highly regarded).
- Qualifications in Engineering, Management, or Business are desirable but not essential.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret technical data and reports.
- Exceptional project management and organisational skills.
- Business development experience, ideally at a managerial level.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and time management abilities.
